About the Author

Born in Edinburgh, raised in nearby Dunbar, birthplace of conservationist John Muir. In 1973, initiated the first survey of the Callanish Stone Circles in Scotland, following in 1976 with a landmark scientific expedition to the Tayos Caves of Ecuador, of which astronaut-professor Neil Armstrong was Honorary President and participant. Discovered the only authenticated natural diamond ever found in Ecuador and asserts El Dorado was clandestinely mined by the Spaniards until the Jivaro-Shuar rebellion of 1599... also that Chan Chan in Peru and Teotihuacan in Mexico are the sites of Claudius Ptolemy's lost cities of Cattigara and Acadthra. In 1993, initiated project Tayu Waa targeting World Heritage status for 100,000Km2 of traditional Shuar-Achuar territory in Upper Amazonia, for which efforts he was nominated for an Ecuadorian Blue Planet Award and elected International Representative and Honorary Brother for life of the Federation Shuar. In 1998, rescued thousands of Ecuadorian artifacts representative of the formative cultures of the Americas, asserting these cultures originated in the coastal regions of Ecuador.

If you have been following the stories of the Inca gold, El Dorado, the Cave of Tayos, etc., your journey is not complete until you have read this book. Truly amazing. But beware! If you think your curiosities will now be satisfied, instead be prepared to launch into one of many new possible journeys - Magyar/Sumarian/Egytian connections, more accurate translations of Sumarian and Egyptian texts, origin of the planets, mytho-history! Stan Hall is truly an amazing man!

This is those kind of books that are written from venturer scientifics who live finding the gold of gods but what they found was better than just a mere gold.. a hole library that may change the history of our life on earth and much more. This golden library is located in the Amazonia jungle in Ecuador, where ancient tribes are living in that zone. Based on real life and expeditions. Also I recommend to read the 12th planet great book to know the origin of the humanity.I live in Ecuador and reading this book make me I wanna go to Tayos Caves..

Stan Hall with sincerity relates in this book his adventure and opinions about the most intrigant people involved in the Tayos mystery: Crespi, Moricz, Jaramillo and many other adventurers are mentioned here who dedicated ther life to research the imposible. I know Ecuador and Hall is very specific when talking about locations and events involving politics and militaries. Too bad that Hall could't get Jaramilo to show him the exact location of the real treasure cave. The question is that if Jaramillo is the only one who knew the location along with his deceased uncle called "Pelado" but who knows if Jaramillo lied? There is a library and there is treasure and it should be statues and things from an ancient civilization, but to asure a location and never revealed tells that something is wrong.I know there are remains of ancient civilizations all over the planet and there is no doubt about it.This book is really clear and tells details and events unknow about the Tayos cave and the Tayus treasure. This book is really interesting and has a lot of evidence.

What a great book and a very enjoyable read. Everything is laid out perfectly to take you on a wondrous adventure. This is one of those books that you will read over and over again over the next 20 years. Mr. Hall did a fantastic job in telling you about his exciting tale of the search for the tablets. I know one day we will find them and we will find out how close he really was. Buy it, read it, re-read it and enjoy.

This is a pretty interesting read. Who knew that Neil Armstrong went caving in Ecuador on a biology mission that was a front for a mission to find lost remnants of an ancient advanced race? We join Stan Hall, who hears tales of an ancient lost library in the Ecuadorean Andes, and he runs into lots of interesting folks. He seems an honest man, and I believe he heard what he says he heard, met who he says he met, and saw what he claimed to see. Whether there really is a lost library is certainly up for debate, but this is a great read of a man who has been on a quest, and the conclusions he draws if the library is real. The fact that it spends a lot of time focused on adventure instead of simply conjecture puts it a cut above other lost civilization books you may read.

For readers with a greater in- depth knowledge of past archeology

I chose this book because of the “adventure” word in the presentation. One has to relax from time to time and what better choice do you have when studying the stupefying sudden apparition of the civilizations on this planet, than a report regarding the adventurers, about the treasure hunters searching for the lost gold of the Ancient Mezo-American Indians?I was expecting to get a little bit bored because, although not being rich or even financial secured, I belong to that strange minority of people that have no sense about the value of the money. The only way I can “feel” money`s significance is connected to my compulsion for buying books. Otherwise no currency in the world is exerting any attraction on me in any way. But, pay attention, the treasure this book is focusing on is in fact a huge anthropological museum dominated by a big library of metal and crystal manuscripts! So, instead of getting bored, I suddenly found myself elated when finally, after the author has built step by step a pyramid of the best suspense ever, the reader finds himself (or herself) in the middle of this promised treasure cave.Oh, poor Aladdin, oh, poor Ali-Baba: they didn`t even dreamed to a such a generous wealth elevated by the purity of the materials and the profoundness of the objects` significance. In the Tayus cave various rooms are hosting workshops full of figurines of all kind of animals, even unknown in the American Continents, strange scenes like that of a golden human skeleton lying on a crystal bed, sculptures of mixed human and animal beings, altogether like the models and blueprints for an experimenting Creator. The serenity of the final considerations in which the author leaves those information as an inheritance for the whole humankind is enriching the book with a supplemental dimension. The dimension of a message about the history of consciousness. A present human consciousness that is gradually growing to become equal with that of the ancients that provided the dreamed richness that are the object of this wonderful book.

Wishing it was written more like a historical novel. A little too much deviation from topic to topic. As though the author was distracted at times.
